Bisi is an astute entrepreneur, public speaker, philanthropist, author and babywearing consultant (SoB CIC.). She is the Founder of Britain’s eponymous babywearing brand; Joy and Joe baby wrap carriers. Together with her husband, Bisi is also a real estate investor. She is also the Founder and admin of the Joy and Joe special needs parenting support Facebook group (a charitable initiative for families with disabled children). She is a mother of two gorgeous children who were both born with special needs.
A graduate of the University of Nottingham and scholar. Bisi is the recipient of the prestigious DFID/Commonwealth scholarship for postgraduate studies. An OFSTED registered early years expert and governor in two special needs primary schools in the United Kingdom.
She has been involved in several charity works as well. She started and ran a support group for parents of disabled children in Wigan. She also took part in many SCOPE activities such as meeting at the UK House of Commons with MPs and speaker of the House of Parliament. She also took part in a pretigious Charity event organized by music mogul Simon Cowell.
In 2012, Bisi won the prestigious Mumsclubs award as one of the top 100 business mums in the UK. In 2015, Bisi's business was nominated for the prestigious venture further award by the University of Manchester business school and they were announced as the winner. In 2017, Bisi was nominated for the talk of Manchester business award and she was voted as the Winner, best female entrepreneur in 2017. In 2016, Bisi became the BAME officer for the St Helens south and Whiston CLP within the Labour Political Party in the United Kingdom. Bisi is the Ex-CLP secretary for her CLP as well as the local labour councillor for Parr ward.
Bisi's journey into entrepreneurship was inspired by her children, Joy and Joseph's difficult start in life. She was inspired by the desire to encourage other parents to enjoy the benefits of carrying their children with comfort and style. Currently, Bisi is writing a book, an autobiography based on her real-life experience as a parent to two children with special needs. This book will also cover her family’s experience of adoption, faith, church’s response to disability issues, travel, entrepreneurship and aspiration for the future.
